The first split tournament of the year and 5th
overall was suppose to give anglers a relief from the heat but that wasn't
the case. With a blue bird sky and hardly no wind to speak of, the fishing
was for most a survival. Matt Nagle and his partner turned in the
performance of the year with a red hot total of 34lbs 10.5 ozs to blow away
the field, After posting a first day total of 14lbs 2.0 ozs, they only
managed to catch 20lbs 8.5ozs the next day to ice their win. Second place
was Larry Beck and Ken King, Mr. Beck's 6lb 5.5ozs catch was big bass for
the tournament and kept his team in 2nd place. 3rd place went to Keith
Williams and Mike Long, after a day 1 total of only 2lbs 5.0ozs (caught by
Mike Long) Keith managed to come alive and bring in 9lbs 7.0ozs the next day
to finish 3rd. 4th Place went to the Tyler & Devin Schilds who had a
respectful 10lbs 12.0ozs. Most anglers complained that with the heat
in July that the hours were too long. If you voted to change the hours than
don't complain. I voted not to change it so I can bitch. I felt like a 1
legged man in an ass kicking contest and yea I got my ass kicked bad.
